A duster is a cleaning tool made of chicken feathers or cloth, used to remove dust.
Dust dusters are also known as feather dusters, feather sweepers, and fly whisks. Among these, a feather duster specifically refers to a duster made of chicken feathers; a fly whisk, also called a duster, is used not only for dusting but also as a ritual implement or weapon in religious culture. In Korean, it is called 먼지떨이.
Feather dusters are effective at removing dust from furniture and other surfaces because chicken feathers do not easily attract dust, and the friction generates static electricity, effectively absorbing dust. The soft feathers also do not damage surfaces.
